Certainly there will be no transmogrification from the Mugabe regime without violence. I am put in mind of the biblical King Saul, who started out as a good guy, the one the people wanted, and who ended up screwing up, losing his mind, and suspecting that everyone wanted his throne. Mugabe as a shepherd reading his books sounds so very appealing. Mugabe slaughtering his people is terrifying. What makes a person go from being what seems to be a decent guy to being so monstrous? Power, perhaps?
